OUR HOLIDAY BLEND | 100% OF PROCEEDS DONATED
Each year the winter holiday season presents us with a combination of the new and the familiar, a blend of reflecting on the events of the past year while we embrace the traditions we’ve known for many years. In recognition of this it’s been our practice at Fonte to create an annual Holiday Blend, something special that invokes the quality of the season, and a part of that tradition is that the blend be unique each year. It has also become tradition for us to share our holiday spirit to the benefit of our friends at Pike Market Child Care & Preschool. Serving the community since 1982 Pike Market Child Care & Preschool extends high quality services for over 100 families annually, providing financial assistance for over 70% of enrolled families, of which half earn incomes at or below the poverty level. The school raises over $250,000 in support of these programs each year. It’s now our pleasure to offer our 26th version of Holiday Blend, donating all proceeds from its sale to support childcare and early learning services that local families need to succeed.
Only 13 percent of PMCCP’s income comes from government subsidies, so they rely heavily on the parent community’s and business neighbor network to help support their services. For the last seven years, Fonté has supported the organization by donating all profits of the Holiday Blend coffee sales in store and online.
“The Pike Market Preschool is not only a lifeline for families, but it is a tradition in the middle of Seattle’s liveliest and educational tourist attraction. Fonté is proud to be a part of the community support of a neighbor that educates and empowers children and helps local working families,” says Ank.
This year’s donation supplements nearly 50 percent of PMCCP’s annual nutrition program cost. PMCCP is committed to nurturing 70 percent of their students’ daily nutritional needs by providing two meals and two afternoon snacks. “Food is so important for the well being of our kids, who’re learning to eat beautiful foods — real greens, no artificial sugars, and made from scratch meals and snacks,” says Stark. “Fonté is making that possible. They’re choosing to do something that’s really impacting the health of our students. We see Fonté as champions for children!”

Pike Market Child Care & Preschool’s mission is to ensure access to high quality care for families of all income levels and circumstances. They’ve grown from serving 35 children daily in the 1980s to serving 65 children (ages 3 months – 5 years) every day. In addition, PMCCP is nationally accredited for their student to staff ratio, which surpasses the Washington State’s standard. PMCCP believes that they are an extension of family in which deep and meaningful, long lasting relationships are cultivated and cherished.
Our Holiday Blend raised $15,000 dollars for Pike Market Child Care & Preschool in Seattle. For the 8th year, 100% of our Holiday Blend proceeds were given to PMCCP. This is our favorite fund raiser and community impact initiative, and we’re proud to share how Pike Market Child Care & Preschool enhances early childhood education for our community!
